Dr. Yean Young

Dr. Young’s mission is to provide the finest endodontic care in a relaxed and compassionate environment, while committed to utilizing the latest advancements and innovations of science.  Her goal is to save natural teeth, to relieve dental pain, and to prevent expensive and time-consuming extractions and implants.    Dr. Young specializes in microscopic and microsurgical root canal treatment with state-of-the-art technology including Zeiss 3D camera microscopes, 3D CBCT scans, and the GentleWave® disinfection system.

Dr. Young received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northeastern University in 1994.  She began her career as an analytical chemist for MIT/Draper laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Although she enjoyed working in the laboratory, she missed interactions with people.  

Dr. Young is honored to serve patients and their referring dentists in the South Shore and Boston Metro area for 24 years.  Because of her history as a restorative dentist, she is mindful of the restorative dentist’s final restoration goals.  Dr. Young’s philosophy and practice has helped her established herself  at the current location for 20 years specializing in microscopic and microsurgical root canal treatment.   She has been chosen amongst her peers as one of “Boston’s Best Dentists”.

Dr. Young studied at Tufts University and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with distinction in 1999.   She practiced general dentistry in Boston and Quincy before returning to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine to complete a specialty in Endodontics in 2004. Dr. Young is affiliated with the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Endodontists, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Massachusetts Association of Endodontics and American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.  Dr. Young taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Post-Graduate Endodontics and in the Emergency Pain Clinic.

Dr. Young and her husband love being hockey parents of two active boys and one active dog.  In her spare time, she enjoys and supports humanitarian efforts, reading and relaxing by the water.
